1. Tips for effective sourcing from China and doing business in China

1 Be clear what your want.  Having your technical specifications and other requirements such as lead times and product quantities in a word format will both speed up and smooth the entire project.

2 Visit the factory. Try to visit the factory before placing an order. To looks for is this factory actually exist? Do they have sufficient equipment to produce?

3 Chinese have great advantage in clothing, but minimum advantage in paper. Chinese metal parts are cheaper, and the steel is also cheaper.

4 Just in inventory (JIV) system may not work n China, so maintain more inventories for your customers. 

5 Chinese companies are not good at Process Management, but they may have advanced equipment and engineer. So have a Chinese team to constant monitor the progress of the production schedule, and gives push for on-times delivery.

6 Intense and prompt communication. It is an example of quality problem. Stay constant contact before and during production. Rule of Thumb: Usually allow for 2 to 3 moth dialog before production

7 Star slow.  A sampling first, then small batch production. If everything is working smoothly, then go for a normal production

8 Always think WIN-WIN.  We are in the same boat, and both making money.

Why not 9, or 10 tips, Because 8 is the lucky number in China. In an Chinese spoken form it means “prosperity”.
